If You See Light in Me

ree

Today is my birthday and I am deeply, eternally grateful for the journey I’m on.

As I take a moment to reflect, I realize how much the people I’ve met along the way have shaped me.

Each one has taught me something about myself, sometimes things I thought I had already mastered. Growth has a way of humbling us like that.

Recently, a friend said something that has stayed with me: “The beauty you see in others is a reflection of yourself.” It struck me, not because I believe I’m perfect, but because it made me see how much of what others celebrate in me is actually a mirror of who they are.

So today, as I receive kind wishes and warm words, I want to say: If you see kindness, strength, or light in me, it’s because those same things live in you too. And for that, I’m grateful.

I’ve come a long way, from unintentionally pushing away some of the most beautiful souls, to slowly learning the art of acceptance. If you’re still struggling to open up, to trust, or to believe in the goodness around you.

I see you. It’s not easy. But it’s a process. And it’s worth it.

Letting your guard down may feel like losing control but it might just be how you meet some of the most incredible people you’ll ever know.

I don’t have much to say today, but I felt I had to write this; for myself, and for anyone who needs to hear it.

Thank you for being part of my journey.

With love,

— Lois✨

The line you quoted is a very intriguing one ;)

But upon pondering on it even further it makes you wonder.

It’s likely that not only is the good we see in others a reflection of our own, but also the bad. Perhaps this is why we react so viscerally to inhumane acts done upon others… perhaps it’s because we can relate it to parts ourselves that hold the potential to commit the same acts hence why we understand the cruel act so deeply. Deep enough to have one react in such visceral way …

anywho.

Aside from your daily episode of “pondering with Freddy”😂

Great post! Genuinely made me think out loud in your comments, happy birthday Tracy and…

Freddy, I love this so much.

You’re absolutely right;  that reflection goes both ways, and it's wild how deeply we can feel things we “recognize” within ourselves, even if it’s something we try to suppress or reject. The way you broke that down is so insightful… and also a little haunting in the best kind of way. 👀

“Pondering with Freddy” might need to become a regular segment 😄

Thanks for sharing your thoughts so openly and for the birthday love.

Here’s to many more deep dives, random reflections, and life’s big questions. 🥂💭✨

I 100% notice this in my daily life, there's always a point in life that growth humbles us all and reading this, a phase " I am because you are, you are because I am" made alot of sence, its beutifull to finally see the full picture on what my impact as an individual is to everyone else.

This was helpfull to me. thank you miss Lois.

Thank you so much for this. Your words truly moved me "I am because you are, you are because I am" captures the heart of it all so perfectly. It means the world to know that this reflection resonated with you and helped you see your own impact more clearly. We’re all connected more than we realize and I’m so grateful we’re able to remind each other of that.

Sending you love and light. 💛
